Testing with ECS Community Education

High School Equivalency (HSE) Exam

Typically offered every other week while school is in session.

To see upcoming testing dates please visit our "Important Dates" tab.

"The Indiana HSE (High School Equivalency) is an alternative for earning a high school diploma. Your HSE Diploma can be earned after completing a test based on five subject areas (math, reading, writing, science and social studies). The skills you are taught and eventually tested on are at the same level as those of graduating high school seniors." - IN.gov

Individuals under the age of 18 must present HSE Readiness Test scores before they will be permitted to register for the full exam.

HSE Readiness Exam

Typically offered every other week while school is in session.

To see upcoming testing dates please visit our "Important Dates" tab.

The HSE readiness test is offered for those individuals who are looking to see if they would be successful on the HSE exam without taking the full exam and paying the full costs the first time. It is a shorter test at a fraction of the cost and gives the individual a percentage at which they are expected to perform on the full test. This can be incredibly helpful for an individual deciding between taking study classes or not.

Individuals coming to ECS' Adult Education program who are under the age of 18 must take the readiness exam, or be able to provide readiness scores before being able to register for the full exam.

"The ParaPro Assessment is a general aptitude test that is required in many states for paraprofessional certification. It also offers school districts an objective assessment of your foundation of knowledge and skills. Start now and take the necessary steps to become a teacher’s assistant." - ets.org

Individuals interested in becoming a paraprofessional must successfully complete the ParaPro Assessment. ECS' Continuing education program offers the test usually once a month.
