Phlebotomy Technicians are critical team members at hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, family practices, and blood donor centers. Working with us here at the Career Center will help you pass your Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT) with the NHA, this will give employers confidence in your skills and abilities. You will be setting yourself up for success and reaching your career goals in the rewarding healthcare industry. 

 

There is an increasing demand for phlebotomists in Health Care. Most Health Care facilities seek and may require professional certification. With the CPT certification, you’ll have the credentials you need that will set you apart from other applicants as you embark on a rewarding career in healthcare. As more employers require phlebotomy certifications, a CPT will help improve your marketability in a growing and rewarding field.

• Learn safety techniques

• Learn how to draw blood from patients and blood donors

• Learn how to evaluate patients’ ability to withstand the procedure

• Be able to explain the blood-drawing procedure to patients and answer questions

• Perform basic point of care testing, such as blood glucose levels

• Prepare blood, urine, and other specimens for testing

• Learn how to verify patient/donor identity

• Maintain medical equipment such as needles, test tubes and blood vial
